One third of misdiagnosed medical cases result in serious injury or death. Moreover, 40,000-80,000 deaths occur each year in the United States alone because of misdiagnosis. This is a major clinical crisis that medical schools and hospitals have failed to adequately address. Es wird die Entwicklung eines modularen Robotersystems beschrieben, das bisher manuell erledigte Arbeitsschritte automatische durchführt. Ziel einer solchen Automatisierung ist einerseits den nötigen Persomal- und Kostenaufwand zu reduzieren und wissenschaftiche Erkentnisse schneller und leichter zu erzielen. Hierzu werden ein Roboter zur Probevorbereitung und ein Roboter zur zweistufigen Untersuchung von Proben mit automatischer Erkennung des interessierenden Bereiches entwickelt. Ein weiterer Aspekt ist die Steigerung der Effizienz hochauflösender, bildgebender Laboranalytik. Hierzu werden zwei einfache automatische bildgebende Roboter entwickelt, mit denen eine Vorauswahl der für weitere Untersuchungen interessanten Proben automatisch durchgeführt wird. Um eine automatische Gesamtprozesskette zu ermöglichen, wird ein auf die Einzelroboter abgestimmtes Transportsystem entwickelt, das den Transport von Mikrotiterplatten zwischen den Funktionseinheiten übernimmt. Zur Umsetzung der Einzelfunktionen werden Bildverarbeitungsmittel zur Erkennung von Informationen in Bildern in automatischen Algorithmen implementiert.

In dieser Arbeit werden im Rahmen eines korpuslinguistischen Ansatzes Wortbildung und Bedeutungskonstitution von Anglizismen als zunehmend wichtiger Teil des fachsprachlichen Wortschatzes der Computertechnik ausführlich untersucht. Zur Bearbeitung des Datenkorpus wurde ein Key-Word-in-Context-Konkordanzprogramm verwendet. Die fachsprachlichen Anglizismen-Komposita der Computertechnik werden nicht nur nach ihren morphologischen Strukturen, sondern auch nach ihrer Wortbildungssemantik systematisch analysiert und beschrieben. Dabei werden vor allem Theorie und Methode der synchronisch-strukturalistischen Morphologie und Semantik verwendet. Um die Frage, wie Entlehnungen aus dem Englischen im deutschen Wortschatz integriert sind, beantworten zu können, werden auch Schreibweise, Aussprache und Genuszuweisung der Anglizismen untersucht.

Nicht nur Neurologen, sondern auch Internisten, Padiater, Psychiater und vor allem Allgemeinpraktiker werden haufig mit Problemen der Abklarung und Behandlung von Anfallkranken konfrontiert. Nach seiner ersten Begegnung mit dem Patienten weiB der Arzt aufgrund der Anamnese oder - ausnahmsweise -aufgrund einer Anfallsbeobachtung iiber die Phanomenologie der Anfalle Bescheid, kennt aber die end­ giiltige Diagnose noch nicht. Bei der Gestaltung und Einteilung eines Lehrbuches erscheint es deswegen zweckmaBig, stichwortartig die Anfallssymptome und nicht die Diagnose in den Vordergrund zu riicken. Dies habe ich bei der Bearbeitung des V. Kapitels getan, das den Anfallen bei Schulkindern, Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen gewidmet ist. Wegen der starkeren Variabilitat der Anfallsphiinomenologie bei Neugeborenen, Sauglingen und Kleinkindern wurden die Kapitel III und IV in konventioneller Weise nach dem Alter der Patienten und nach den Anfallssyndromen eingeteilt. In anderen Kapiteln wurde eine Reihe von Problemen besprochen, die in den letzten J ahren anlaBlich unserer verschiedenen Epilepsie-Fortbildungsveranstaltungen auf Interesse praktizierender Arzte gestoBen sind. Das Kapitel VIII enthiilt Angaben iiber die gebrauchlichsten Antiepileptika und iiber verschiedene therapeutische Probleme. Selten, vor allem in spezialisierten Kliniken, angewandte, altere Medikamente wurden in diesem fUr Nichtepileptologen bestimm­ ten Buch nicht beriicksichtigt.
