This open access book provides a complete probabilistic analysis method and a performance-based seismic safety evaluation for high concrete faced rockfill dam (CFRD). Combined with random sample generation and reliability analysis methods, the dynamic response characteristics and reliability level of CFRD under various random factors are comprehensively described. In Chapter 2, a random ground motion model based on spectral representation-random function and a high-dimensional random variable generation method based on GF- discrepancy are established. Combined with probability density evolution method (PDEM) and the random sample generation methods to verify its effectiveness and reliability for nonlinear complex geotechnical engineering. In Chapter 3, the dynamic response and probabilistic characteristics of high CFRD under random ground motion are revealed based on the elastoplastic analysis. A performance-based seismic safety evaluation method is established. In Chapter 4, the influence of material parameter randomness on dynamic response and seismic safety of high CFRD is studied from the perspective of stochastic dynamics and probability. In Chapter 5, the stochastic dynamic response and probability distribution of high CFRD under the coupled random action of ground motion and material parameters are systematically studied, and the performance-based seismic safety evaluation framework is improved. In Chapter 6, The stochastic dynamic response of 3D high CFRD is studied, and the failure performance index and performance level based on overstress volume ratio combined with overstress accumulation time are discussed. The performance-based seismic safety evaluation framework is further improved. In Chapter 7, combined with the finite element dynamic time-history analysis method considering the softening effect of rockfill, a performance-based seismic safety evaluation framework for dam slope stability of high CFRD under multiple random factors is systematically explored from the perspective of stochastic dynamics and probability. In Chapter 8, The performance indexes of seismic safety evaluation for high CFRDs are suggested and the corresponding performance level with probability assurance is put forward. The multi-seismic intensity - multi-performance target - failure probability performance relationship is established, and a performance-based seismic safety evaluation framework is initially formed. This book can be used as a reference for scholars studying random vibration and reliability analysis, as well as for scholars studying dam safety evaluation.

Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Dissertation werden zwei additiven Fertigungsverfahren, Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) und Additive Layer Manufacturing (ALM) unter Verwendung thermoplastischer Faserverbundwerkstoffe kombiniert. Weiterhin kommt künstliche Intelligenz zur Optimierung und Minimierung der Fehler im Fertigungsprozess zum Einsatz. Durch die Kombination dieser drei Methoden in einem automatisierten Fertigungsprozess lassen sich leichtere und kostengünstigere Faserverbundbauteile in homogeneren Serien herstellen. Endlosfasern wie Kohlenstofffasern können durch ihre mechanischen Eigenschaften die Leistung dieser Methoden signifikant erhöhen

This book mainly presents the authors' recent studies on the distributed attitude consensus of multiple flexible spacecraft. Modified Rodrigues parameters and rotation matrix are used to represent spacecraft attitude. Several distributed adaptive controllers are presented with theoretical analyses, numerical simulations and experimental verifications. The authors intend to provide a manual that allows researchers, engineers and students in the field of aerospace engineering and mechanics to learn a theoretical and practical approach to the design of attitude consensus algorithms.

The book is devoted to design and optimization of control units represented by combined finite state machines (CFSMs). The CFSMs combine features of both Mealy and Moore FSMs. Having states of Moore FSM, they produce output signals of both Mealy and Moore types. To optimize the circuits of CFSMs, we propose to use optimization methods targeting both Mealy and Moore FSMs. The book contains some original synthesis and optimization methods targeting hardware reduction in VLSI-based CFSM circuits. These methods take into account the peculiarities of both a CFSM model and a VLSI chip in use. The optimization is achieved due to combining classical optimization methods with new methods proposed in this book. These new methods are a mixed encoding of collections of microoperations and a twofold state assignment in CFSMs. All proposed methods target reducing the numbers of arguments in systems of Boolean functions representing CFSM circuits. Also, we propose to use classes of pseudoequivalent states of Moore FSMs to reduce the number of product terms in these systems.The book includes a lot of examples which contributes to a better understanding of the features of the synthesis methods under consideration. This is the first book entirely devoted to the problems associated with synthesis and optimization of VLSI-based CFSMs. We hope that the book will be interesting and useful for students and PhD students in the area of Computer Science, as well as for designers of various digital systems. We think that proposed CFSM models enlarge the class of models applied for implementation of control units with modern VLSI chips.

The author has published many papers and books on topological transformations for optimal analysis of structures, where many methods and algorithms are developed. However, the framework of this book generalizes many concepts and makes the previously developed methods conceptually more attractive. The aim of the present work is two folds. On the one hand, it shows to mathematicians how the apparently pure mathematical concepts can be applied to the efficient solution of problems in structural mechanics. This book focuses on the control-by-wire system, particularly the steer-by-wire system, as well as its control and optimization issues in chassis integration. The steering stability of the vehicle, handling portability, and overall performance of the chassis system are improved by steer-by-wire technology, which includes stability control, road-feeling control, decoupling control, force and displacement coordinated control, and chassis integration optimization. Furthermore, intelligent control goals such as active collision avoidance and active rollover prevention of the vehicle are realized, and the active safety of the vehicle is increased, due to the integrated control of the steer-by-wire system and chassis system. In this book, different types of steer-by-wire systems are introduced, as well as thorough force and displacement control strategies and their implementation in chassis integrated control, ensuring the intelligent and unmanned driving's control reaction speed andprecision.

The book provides fault detection and diagnosis approaches from the perspective of filtering analysis. In order to design fault detection filters, it uses set-membership principles to deal with the unknown but bounded noise term. Some regular geometric spaces are introduced, such as the ellipsoid, polyhedron, interval, to describe the feasible parameter sets of the given system. Both principles and engineering practice have been addressed, with more weight placed on engineering practice. Some typical application cases are studied for fault detection and diagnosis in detail, which are power converter, permanent magnet synchronous motor, pitch system of wind turbine.
