This volume comprises the select proceedings of the 3rd Biennial International Conference on Future Learning Aspects of Mechanical Engineering (FLAME) 2022. Additive manufacturing is considered a key technology for digital production. However, several barriers towards the broad industrial application exist, e.g. the associated cost and the required experience regarding the manufacturing process. To eradicate these barriers, the complete digitalization of the value creation process is needed. In this thesis, a digital, automated support structuredesign procedure is developed. Topology optimization is used for design rule determination, and the space colonization algorithm is adapted for the automated design. The validity of the procedure is proven experimentally, revealing sufficient mechanical performance alongside cost reduction at medium to large production scales.

The book describes and explains the results of the collaborative project Generative Manufacturing of Optical, Thermal and Structural Components over the last three years. The overall goal is the development of a system concept based on generative manufacturing for integrated optical and optomechanical systems. Different developed generative manufacturing processes for glass and specially designed metal powders have been implemented in a single fabrication set up enabling multi-material manufacturing of optical components and systems. The main focus of the project is split into several topics: simulation, design, material engineering, process engineering, post-processing and component evaluation. The simulation of the glass printing process will be structured iteratively with a comparison of the experimental results in order to be able to finally make a prediction of the necessary parameter sizes for defined components. A metal material with similar thermal conductivity and thermal expansion properties to glass or laser-active crystals has been developed iteratively over the course of the project to enable direct printing onto these materials. In order to demonstrate the potential of generatively manufactured optomechanics for function-integrated systems, the optomechanical components required for a solid-state laser system are manufactured in a polymer-based 3D printing process and their properties are characterized. All these individual projects of the overall network are combined in the system concept.

This book investigates two types of static multi-fidelity surrogates modeling approaches, sequential multi-fidelity surrogates modeling approaches, the multi-fidelity surrogates-assisted efficient global optimization, reliability analysis, robust design optimization, and evolutionary optimization. Multi-fidelity surrogates have attracted a significant amount of attention in simulation-based design and optimization in recent years. Ein bislang nur vereinzelt berücksichtigtes NVH-Thema stellt die Charakterisierung der Pkw-Dämpferreibung bei geringen Bewegungsamplituden dar, wo Untersuchungen ohne wechselseitige Beeinflussung im Gesamtbauteil erörtert werden. Ein aktueller Trend zur Reduzierung von Verschleiß an Bremsscheiben besteht in ihrer Beschichtung. In einem Beitrag werden die Auswirkungen eines neuen Beschichtungsverfahrens auf Eigenfrequenz- und Dämpfungsverhalten der Komponenten diskutiert und zusätzlich in einem weiteren Kapitel die Untersuchungsmethodik zur Spannungsermittlung in beschichteten Bremsscheiben vorgestellt. In der Industrie existieren zehntausende Montagearbeitsplätze. Diese verändern sich. Infolge hoher Wettbewerbsintensität und Innovationsdynamik entstehen immer mehr Produktvarianten, die zu einer Zunahme der Komplexität der Montagearbeit beitragen. Es stellt sich daher die Frage, wie mit dieser gestiegenen Komplexität umzugehen und wie diese seitens der Beschäftigten zu bewältigen ist, ohne dass es zu Überbeanspruchungen und einem Verfehlen von Produktivitätszielen kommt. Während Montage bislang vornehmlich als energetische Arbeit begriffen wurde, rücken künftig die kognitiven Anteile der Montagearbeit in den Vordergrund. This proceedings volume contains papers that have been selected after review for oral presentation at ROMANSY 2018, the 22nd CISM-IFToMM Symposium on Theory and Practice of Robots and Manipulators. These papers cover advances on several aspects of the wide field of Robotics as concerning Theory and Practice of Robots and Manipulators.ROMANSY 2018 is the 22nd event in a series that started in 1973 as one of the first conference activities in the world on Robotics. The first event was held at CISM (International Centre for Mechanical Science) in Udine, Italy on 5-8 September 1973. It was also the first topic conference of IFToMM (International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science) and it was directed not only to the IFToMM community.

Das vorliegende Buch unterstützt die Auswahl geeigneter Produktstrukturen im Rahmen der Modularisierung variantenreicher Produktfamilien. Dazu werden die monetären Effekte von Änderungen an der Produktstruktur prognostiziert. Diese Auswirkungen werden anschließend in einer semi-quantitativen Bewertung mit weiteren qualitativen Zielgrößen verknüpft. Abschließend können weitere Maßnahmen zur Kostensenkung über ein generisches Modell der Kostenwirkung abgeleitet werden.
