Our Story
Buchpark represents over 35 years of experience in the book trade. Our story began in 1989 as a specialist bookstore in Berlin – at a time when e-commerce was still a distant vision. From the very beginning, our focus was never just on selling books, but on knowledge, quality, and the responsible handling of media.
As the market evolved, so did we. Step by step, our traditional specialist bookstore developed into a modern e-commerce company. Today, we combine decades of bookselling expertise with digital infrastructure and sustainable processes.
Our range now extends beyond books to include music and films, with a stock of more than 4 million items. As a family-run company based in Germany, we operate three warehouse locations from which we ship thousands of media items every day. Every single book, CD, and film is carefully inspected and evaluated by our team before it is returned to circulation.
Our conviction has remained the same since 1989: media deserve a second life. By rescuing and redistributing books, music, and films, we make culture affordable while conserving valuable resources.

Most of our pre-owned media come from wholesalers, publishers, and specialist libraries. We are particularly proud of our extensive range of used academic and specialist books, which we purchase directly from publishers and professional libraries.

Sustainability at Buchpark
Sustainability is part of everyday life at Buchpark:
Every book we rescue saves CO₂ and conserves resources. We buy books from wholesalers, libraries, publishers and private individuals, check every copy by hand and get it back on its journey.
Books that can no longer be sold are donated or recycled properly – for a world where good stories are preserved.
