This practical guide to the use of radiotherapy for the treatment of sarcomas and skin cancers covers a wide range of disease scenarios, identifying which treatment techniques are applicable in particular clinical circumstances. Among the conditions considered are extremity soft tissue sarcomas, retroperitoneal soft tissue sarcomas, bone sarcomas, uterine sarcomas, chordomas, pediatric sarcomas, squamous cell carcinomas, basal cell carcinomas, melanomas, Merkel cell carcinomas, and cutaneous lymphomas. Detailed attention is devoted to the issues and considerations of relevance in everyday practice when treating these diseases. The use of multiple radiotherapy techniques and procedures, including IMRT, brachytherapy, radiosurgery, and particle therapy, is fully explained, and the role of radiotherapy in combination with chemotherapy and emerging therapeutics such as immunotherapy and biologic anticancer agents is also addressed. The book will be of high value for practicing radiationoncologists, medical and surgical oncologists, medical physicists, medical dosimetrists, trainees, and other medical professionals.

This book provides a current experience in the diagnostic techniques and treatment approaches available for unusual cutaneous lymphomas. It features concise case-based chapters with a particular emphasis on instances of mature T-cell and NK-cell neoplasms, mature B-cell neoplasms, immature hematopoietic malignancies, and other lymphoproliferative disorders. Clinically-oriented cases emphasize the importance of physical examination along with modern tests of laboratory diagnostics and clinico-pathological correlations.Cutaneous Lymphomas: Unusual Cases 3 presents a range of difficult and rare cases, which would be uncommon even to the specialists in this field. Therefore, it is a vital reference source for dermatologists, dermatophatologists, cutaneous oncologists, hematooncologists, pathologists, oncologists, and other medical professionals who treat these patients.

Books mark the progress of Man since they were invented. Through them we are able to gain insight into the minds of our predecessors better than through any other medium. They describe how the delicate interplay between practice and ideal, which is better known as evolution, has brought forward the societies in which we now live. A book marks the synthesis of knowledge in a different way from individual papers. A certain maturity and volume of understanding and knowledge is necessary before the material is suitable for a book. The timing of the cognitive and analytical synt- sis represented by a book is therefore crucial; too soon and it is lost in speculation, too late and it is old news. Non-melanoma skin cancer is common; it causes morbidity, it causes a burden on society, and treatment has been traditionally almost exclusively surgical. Decades of medical science have however now brought forward a number of techniques which may help both the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer without physically removing it, either alone or in combination in treatment programs tailored to the individual patients.

Anne Maguire u.a. an den folgenden Leiden:¿ Ausschlag (Ekzem, atopische Dermatitis, Neurodermitis constitutionalis) ¿ Nesselsucht (Urtikaria) ¿ Schuppenflechte (Psoriasis) ¿ Knötchenausschlag (Lichen ruber planus) ¿ Haarausfall (Alopezie) ¿ Blasenbildende Erkrankungen (Dermatitis herpetiformis und Impetigo herpetiformis, Pemphigus vulgaris, toxische epidermale Nekrolyse) ¿ Hautrötung (Erythrodermie) ¿ Bindegewebserkrankungen (Kollagenosen, Lupus erythematodes, Sklerodermie)
