Peace should be a generic word for the United Nations, European Union and NATO. Rather than chanting on sanctions and propaganda to motivate parties into war, while casualties keep increasing. This book provides the historical ties between Russia and Ukraine, exposes the genesis of the 'game', which led to several sanctions on Russia and individuals with suspected links with president Putin. The book also analyzes the breach of Ukrainian intelligence and quick invasion by Russia, using the information warfare theory.Despite the sanctions and resolutions adopted, the United Nations and other international organizations must advocate for peace, in order to avoid the emergence of new alliances and criminal networks. The conflict in Ukraine must not be normalized. Neither should it be linked to new wave of insecurity; violent extremism, jihadist tendencies, cyber-attacks, and the proliferation of nuclear weapons. Only peace can lead to sustainable development.

SARON MESSEMBE Obia is a figure of distinction in the field of international security. He studied Criminology and Security Management (PGD) and Security Studies (MSc) at the Pan African Institute for Development West Africa- PAID-WA, and is a Certified Public Policy Analyst at the Nkafu Policy Institute. He is a counter terrorism analyst of Islamic Theology of Counter Terrorism-ITCT, a UK based Counter Islamist Terrorism Think Tank. He worked with the International Association for Counter Terrorism and Security Professional South East Asia-IACSP SEA, as Assistant Editor and IACSP SEA Representative for Cameroon Publication Division. He is the author of numerous books, including: 'The Criminal Mind In The Age Of Globalization', 'Jihadist Tendencies in West Africa Boko Haram's Game - Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow' and 'Weaponized Drones Terrorism in Africa Al Qeada, Al Shabaab, Boko Haram & ISIS.

This book presents the menace posed by Boko Haram in Nigeria. National responses have varied from soft and heavy hand approach, in spite the devastating humanitarian crisis and the destruction imputed by Boko Haram. This work highlights issues necessary in addressing the root causes of violent extremism in West Africa, thereby analyzing terrorist financing, in order to prevent further militancy. It also examines some strategies necessary to ensure security at the local level, and ahead of impending election in Nigeria.Nigerian security forces have undertaken numerous counter terrorism attacks on Boko Haram at the national level, though her response is not clear, following the split within Boko Haram and their modus operandi. Cameroon, which is the second most affected country by Boko Haram, has involved the mobilization of security actors at all levels, in order to shape military tactical and operational response. Military cooperation within the region and with other states is quite fruitful. The development of the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) plays a strategic role in terms of coordinating military action, though some challenges are still evident, at the level of joint military operations around the borders.
