Ein junger Adliger mit besten Aussichten erobert aus einer Laune heraus die Geliebte eines anderen, Elléonore, wie eine Trophäe. Doch statt einer flüchtigen Liebschaft entwickelt sich eine Bindung, die den Protagonisten zu erdrücken droht. Adolphe ist ein beklemmendes Kammerspiel über eine selbst gewählte Abhängigkeit, aus der es keinen Ausweg zu geben scheint. Bereits fünfzehn Tage später ist ein Klassiker geboren: zeitlos durch die erschütternde Authentizität des Selbsterlittenen, doch in seinem Zwang zur Selbstbeobachtung geradezu aktuell. Eine Geschichte über die Zwänge der Liebe und die Schuld, die man auf sich lädt, wenn die Liebe endet.
