This book provides a new and innovative look at the textual history of 2 Kings 17. The analysis of all the preserved textual evidence - the Septuagint, the Old Latin, and the Masoretic text - shows that the text of 2 Kings 17 was vastly edited during its textual history. The earliest Hebrew text form of the chapter can in many cases be reconstructed on the basis of the Old Latin version, which evidences a different edition vis-à-vis MT.
