Sie war zunächst Schülerin, später auch Lehrerin am Bauhaus in Dessau. 1932 emigrierte sie in die USA, wo sie am Black Mountain College, North Carolina, bis 1949 Weberei unterrichtete. VICTORIA SEMYKINA ist eine vielfach ausgezeichnete Illustratorin, die in Bologna lebt und arbeitet. 2021 hat sie für Ihr Bilderbuch François Truffaut: The Child Who Loved Cinema sowohl den Andersen Award als auch den Nami Grand Prix bekommen. EMILY HALL lebt in New York. Sie arbeitet als Redakteurin am Museum of Modern Art, New York und schreibt u.a. für New York Times Book Review, The Stranger und RedHeaded StepChild. 2020 erschien ihr erster Roman The Longcut.
