Perfino allora, drasticamente separati dalla vita, Parker e Jocelyn restano inseparabili, «una famiglia», come amano ripetersi. Fino al giorno in cui, nella splendida casa dell'amico, Parker trova il dattiloscritto del suo ultimo romanzo.
