Jahrhunderts verdeutlicht.

Sacred Works for Organ is a collection of organ scores composed by Rebecca A. Drimmel. Each organ piece was composed being inspired by Johann Sebastian Bach and other composer virtuosos. Some of the scores in this book are Christo Sanctissimo, Anni Infestati, Christus Regnat in Aeternum which are very baroque era-ish sounding but still having a modern and contemporary sound. In this Organ Solos Collection, there are twelve different yet baroque-ish style pieces with a contemporary sound that is not only enjoyable to hear and also perform. These scores would ideally be played and performed for a church service, mass, recital or special occasion. Each piece has a partita like essence. Each piece has a grand staff for the Organ and a bass clef for the pedal. I highly recommend this organ solo collection to any intermediate to advanced organist wanting to expand their repertoire.

From late antiquity to the late Middle Ages, rite and mass piety in the Byzantine Eastern and Latin Western Church were determined by the intersection of liturgical and musical practice with the sacred space. To what extent did the liturgy in the East and West influence the architectural and pictorial design of church interiors as well as musical composition and performance practice? How did liturgical texts and chants interact with mosaics and wall paintings? And what impact did the room acoustics have on the spoken and sung word? The book examines these and other questions in an interdisciplinary dialogue and discusses transfer processes between Byzantium and the Euro-Mediterranean region from late antiquity to the Late Middle Ages. This Title is also Available as Open Access.

Words we sing in worship have great power to shape our beliefs and actions. This is the second collection of hymns by Jann Aldredge-Clanton with composer Larry E. Schultz. These hymns, like those in the first collection, will contribute to an expansive theology and an ethic of equality and justice in human relationships. Inclusive Hymns for Liberation, Peace, and Justice will empower people to take prophetic action on gender, race, interfaith cooperation, sexual orientation, ecology, and other social justice issues. These hymns include female and male divine images to support the foundational biblical truth that all people are created equally in the divine image (Genesis 1:27). Inclusive Hymns for Liberation, Peace, and Justice will instill belief in the sacredness of all people and all creation. The predominant themes of social justice, peace, liberation, care of creation, partnership in relationships, and unity in diversity come from the prophetic tradition in Scripture. This collection also includes hymns of lament and hymns that celebrate special occasions. Many of the hymns are appropriate for interfaith settings. Most of the hymns are set to widely known tunes, many with fresh arrangements.

Like all literature, the words Christians use in worship reflect the times in which they were written and often, as language changes, the words of hymns can become old fashioned, even archaic. Hymn and song writing needs to marry together the musical, the poetic, and the social and theological concerns of the community in which it lives and grows. The words not only need to make sense but have some theological nourishment in them. A hymn has to have something worth saying and singing, even if it's only two lines long.<BR>Songs in Season gladly acknowledges the beauty of music that has sustained Christian communities long enough to become familiar. It offers fresh words to that music while remaining faithful to the witness of the Scriptures and the foundational doctrines of the universal Church.

Music has great power to touch the heart and change the world. Words we sing in worship shape our beliefs and actions. The inclusive songs in this collection will contribute to social justice, peace, equality, and expansive spiritual experience. This collection includes all new songs, most to widely-known tunes and some to new tunes. Many of the songs are appropriate for interfaith settings. A special feature of this new collection is the inclusion of multigenerational short songs for various parts of worship services, such as invocations and benedictions. The songs in this collection name Deity as female and male and more to support the foundational biblical truth that all people are created equally in the divine image (Genesis 1:27). Earth Transformed with Music! Inclusive Songs for Worship will instill belief in the sacredness of all people and all creation. The predominant themes of gender equality, racial equality, marriage equality, economic justice, care of creation, and peacemaking flow from the prophetic tradition in Scripture. This collection also includes songs for comfort, healing, celebration, and thanksgiving.

Music has great power to spread the good news of peace, justice, liberation, and abundant life for all people. This new song collection proclaims this good news with lyrics inclusive in gender and race and with themes of social justice and peacemaking. The title of this collection, Inclusive Songs from the Heart of Gospel, comes from our choice of gospel music tunes for most of our texts. This title is likewise appropriate for our songs set to other familiar hymn tunes because we draw from the meaning of the Greek New Testament word for "gospel," euangelion, also translated as "good news." We reclaim these gospel tunes and other tunes we love with inclusive lyrics to sound the good news that transforms our world. The songs in this collection bring good news for all races and all genders, celebrating the sacredness of all people and all creation. They name Deity as female, male, nonbinary, and more to support the foundational biblical truth that all people are created equally in the divine image. This collection includes all new songs for use in worship services, small groups, retreats, music camps, activist gatherings, and individual meditation. Many of the songs are appropriate for multifaith and multigenerational settings.
