German edition Villa Silberblick where a mentally deranged Friedrich Nietzsche spent the final years of his life, was originally a middle-class home. Nietzsche's sister Elisabeth Förster-Nietzsche not only looked after her ill brother but also exploited the cult-like admiration the philosopher enjoyed for her own ends and installed the Nietzsche Archive in the building. Initially very popular amongst Europe's avant-garde later Elisabeth Förster-Nietzsche allowed the archive to be instrumentalized by the National Socialists before it became a taboo topic in the GDR. Unzählige Publikationen und Ausstellungen beschäftigen sich mit Jean-Michel Basquiats Leben und Werk, doch eine Episode blieb bisher weitgehend unberücksichtigt: Im Sommer 1982 reiste der New Yorker Künstler auf Einladung des Galeristen Emilio Mazzoli für eine seiner frühen Einzelausstellungen in Europa ins italienische Modena. Innerhalb weniger Tage malte er dort eine Gruppe großformatiger Gemälde, die sein vorheriges Schaffen nicht nur hinsichtlich ihres Maßstabes übertrafen. Jeweils mindestens zwei mal vier Meter groß, markieren sie den Übergang vom Graffiti-Sprayen in den Straßen Manhattans zum Malen auf Leinwand. Zugleich sind sie Ausdruck des Findens einer Identität als Künstler. Die Gemälde - darunter Meisterwerke, die heute als die Herausragendsten seines OEuvre gelten - wurden nie zusammen gezeigt. This book focuses on the Heritage Conservation of Architecture, Historic Districts of a City and Conservation strategies with specific case studies from India, in order to highlight the need for conserving the rich piece of history through research, education, advocacy, and practice. The historic significance and the condition mapping of the subjects are carried out through primary field studies by the authors at School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada, India. The cases are analysed, and appropriate solutions and sustainable strategies are evolved for the conservation of the buildings facing contemporary challenges. The contents align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 11), Target 11.4 which aims to "strengthen efforts to protect and safeguard the world's cultural and natural heritage'. This would ensure that a rich piece of history is documented and analysed to ensure that it is not erased and forgotten. This book discusses the development of the rural tourism industry in the Himalayan region, specifically in the region of Himachal Pradesh (HP), from the perspective of different stakeholders in the tourism industry. It examines the current status and trends of rural tourism in HP, discusses the challenges faced in response to the vulnerability of the Himalayas to global climate change, and evaluates the consequences of rural tourism on the socio-economic structure in HP to sustainably formulate a framework for promoting financial and social inclusion. This framework covers flexible strategies for planning rural tourism development, assesses the role of technology in the tourism industry in achieving the objective of social and financial inclusion, and identifies the factors influencing a tourist's decision to undertake rural tourism and develop a hierarchical relationship among those factors.
