Inspirational Interiors
Classic English Interiors
Discover the world of decorating in the English style as revealed in this classic book by Roger Banks-Pye of legendary decorating firm Colefax and Fowler - a must-have for interiors lovers.'Whatever you do in your decorating philosophy, be brave. Have stark red walls if you wish. But never wish you hadn't taken your vision right to the end. Make a bold statement.'Roger Banks-Pye was one of the most sought-after interior decorators of his time and was recently described by House & Garden magazine as one of 'the most influential designers of the 20th century'. Design director at the doyen of interior decoration Colefax and Fowler, his work appears traditional at first glance but is in fact spiced with innovation, originality and irreverence. This classic volume shows the decorator at work in a selection of the private homes he transformed with flair and panache, from a London studio flat decorated on a shoestring to a Scottish hunting lodge where money was no object. This book is a record of the spaces he created and there are accessible, practical and creative ideas to be picked up on each and every page. With photography by James Merrell alongside sketches by Roger himself, Inspirational Interiors allows a privileged glimpse into his unique world of style. First published in 1997, this a new edition.
