Melanie Konrad examines the potential of media-reflective approaches in critical theory, particularly in the work of Walter Benjamin and Alexander Kluge, for the further development of historicizing (queer)feminist perspectives. This closes a research gap by applying feminist and queer-theoretical questions to the works of Benjamin and Kluge in order to highlight their relevance to current debates on media processes, visual culture, memory work, and the philosophy of history. The aim is to identify methodological ways in which (queer)feminist approaches can be expanded to include historical and media-theoretical questions, while at the same time highlight the significance of Benjamin's and Kluge's feminist reception.
