Narita Airport Terminal 2 Shuttle System
Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Narita International Airport, the international airport of the Greater Tokyo Area, opened the current Terminal 2 in 1992, as well as the shuttle system. The shuttle links the main building of the terminal and its satellite, 279 m away. The whole ride takes a minute, and is free of charge. The system is made by Nippon Otis Elevator, a company specialized in elevators and escalators. As a matter of fact, it is technically (and legally) not a railway, but a horizontal elevator; cars are attached to a cable that moves them, like a funicular. These cars do not have wheels; instead, they float on a 0.2-millimetre layer of pressured air. This was the first use of such a system to be used in an airport, as well as the first in Japan.

Social Return on Investment
Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online.Social Return on Investment, or SROI is an attempt to measure the social and financial value created by a non profit, NGO or business. It has not been proven to drive increased investment, but it is popular with academics and some consultancies. A number of services are now looking at analysing the 'investment' in charities as yielding a social return on investment. An example is Development Ratings which helps private donors evaluate and research charities that work in the developing countries. SROI is an approach to understanding and managing the impacts of a project, an organisation or a policy. It is based on stakeholders and puts financial values on the important impacts identified by stakeholders which do not have market values.
