Vaughn is a down-and-out alcoholic physician who jumps on an opportunity to revive his flagging career: he accepts an undesirable position as a medical provider on a remote moon outpost. He wants to cure a volatile rash that infects the workers under his care, but he must first overcome his own apathy and self-destructive behavior to earn the trust of his patients. (lib)
